Requirements

Minimum educational qualification:

• Grade 10 (or equivalent).

Experience:

• Appropriate experience in tasks performed in a maintenance workshop within a hospital setting.
• Appropriate experience with workshop tools.

Inherent requirements of the job:

• Willingness to travel.
• Capability to do strenuous physical labour.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

• Ability to handle tools, parts and materials.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

• Carry out minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist with repairs and emergency breakdowns (including after hour repairs).
• Assist with the installation of plant, equipment and alterations.
• Clear areas where work has been carried out.
• Ensure that tools and materials are available when needed.
• Assist the Artisans in the execution of their duties.
