TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognized non-profit organisation. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. Our work culture is adapted to the constantly-evolving South African health care environment and will suit solution-driven team players interested in opportunities for career development while working to connect people with care Purpose of the position: To provide psycho social services under the supervision of a social worker within the context of an HIV Priority Populations Prevention programme focusing on adolescent girls and young women. This will include screening and assessment, and referral to social worker for therapeutic social work services, within the PP _PREV program.
The social auxiliary worker will also conduct structural programmes addressing HIV prevention and gender based violence, as well as engage with relevant stakeholders with government departments, with partners and in the social work field.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certificate in Social Auxiliary Work from a recognized college or institution
- Two years training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two plus years related experience
- SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions)
- Computer literate in MS office advantageous
- Proficiency in English and isiXhosa languages
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license and own transport
- Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive psycho-social assessments (screening for gender-based violence, substance and alcohol abuse and mental health, vulnerability and risk assessments,) of AGYW and their families
- Conducts House hold profiling using profiling tools
- Provide minimum package of community-based care and refer to social worker /facility for continuum of care
- Document victims of GBV in GBV register
- Follow up on beneficiaries and provide psychosocial support
- Ensures that families receive optimal care and holistic psychological support, etc. through multi- sectoral approach
- Supports Social Workers in assessing the needs of AGYW and parent’s/care givers and guardians and implements effective support strategies
- Provides structural programmes including SASA
- Educates patients and their families
- Informs patients and their families on eligibility criteria for social support grants
- Networks with all relevant stakeholders and implements an effective referral system to ensure effective service delivery
