The Domestic Cleaner will be responsible for cleaning and taking care of our facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties, the role reports to the Cleaning Supervisor.
Your overall job responsibility will include amongst others
- sweeping,
- washing,
- dusting,
- mopping,
- vacuuming,
- scrubbing,
- sanitizing all areas and surfaces.

Task and Responsibilities:
- To attend to the morning Safety Toolbox, Talk and participate in the Safety discussions
- To participate in the Safety discussions.
- Start with the Ablution Facilities in their designated area.
- Fill all the toilet roll holders with toilet paper.
- Replace the hand towel roll.
- Refill the toilet dispensers with hand soap.
- Refill the seat wipe dispensers.
- Wash the hand basins.
- Ensure that the mirrors are clean.
- Report the state of the she-bins to the supervisor.
- Brush the toilets and clean the seats.
- Wash the shower and the shower doors.
- Spray all the taps, door handles, toilet seats, flushing handle and showers with an anti-bacterial disinfectant.
- Sweep the Ablution Facility.
- Wash and mop the toilet and shower floors.
- Empty the dust bins.
- Clean the kitchen/canteen – U17
- Clean the fridge and the microwave oven. * Clean the basin and the counter tops.
- Clean the kettle and fill it with clean water.
- Wipe down the tables and the benches – U17
- Empty all the dust bins.
- Remove the dust off the walls with a feather duster.
- Spray the taps, fridge handles, microwave handle, door handles, counter tops, and the tables/benches with an anti-bacterial disinfectant.
- Clen the offices and the control room, for this purpose he/she must ask permission to clean the office.
- Use furniture polish for the tables and filing cabinets.
- Clean the windows.
- Remove the dust from the walls and files.
- Spray the filing cabinet handles, door handles, chair armrests with an anti-bacterial disinfectant.
- wash and mop the floors.
- To perform duties in other units if requested to do so.
- Work overtime if requested by the client.
- Ability to decant and mix the different cleaning agents.

Understanding of the MSDS’s.
- To complete BBS observations on time.
- Comply with timekeeping.
- Report any deviations to the supervisor.
- Comply with the safety standards and KUE’s as set out by the client.
- Ability to read and write in English. Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10/12
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently for following instructions.
- Experience of working with basic hand and power tools will be an advantage.
- Medical fitness certificate Key Skills Required
- Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Able to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work both alone and in a team.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
