An exciting position for a Customs Entry Clerk has become available within National Brands Limited, based at the Durban Tea Factory, reporting to the Shipping Controller.

Job Specification:
Key Performance Areas:
Minimum Requirements:
- Receive and process documents for shipments
- Request arrival notice and release charges from the shipping line
- Track shipment ETA complete customs clearance submission
- Process GRN’s and forward payments
- Complete cargo dues order
- Arrange third party releases – port health, plant inspector, Statevet, etc
- Complete transport and FCL instructions
- Compile release documents and arrange submission to shipping line/ depot
- Plan transport and delivery of shipments
- Facilitate customs exam procedure with shipping line and depot
- Obtain release and plan transport with shipping line and depot
- Process forex payment instructions for DT site
- Complete monthly SARS deferment reconciliation
- Forward payment request of monthly SARS deferment
- Complete monthly reconciliation of customs VAT
- Coordinate/ monitor clearances of import shipments
- Ensure rebate items and import permits have been declared for the specific tariff heading
- Ensure Customs Procure Codes and EUR1 / SADC certificates have been utilized at the time of clearance
- Process customs bills of entries

Experience:
3 years experience in import and export customs clearance/ logistics
SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Qualifications:
Matric with Maths is essential
Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics imports and exports
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of proactive risk profiling
Knowledge of the Customs and Excise Act, Rules, Regulations, and SARS policies
